3 Eggs

1 Cup Sugar

1 Tsp Salt

 1 Tsp Cinnamon

½ Tsp Nutmeg

¼ Tsp Cloves

1 ½ Cup Milk

1 ½ Cup Pumpkin puree

Beat the eggs, add the sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Add the milk and pumpkin puree.

I always make my own pumpkin puree. I get a small pie pumpkin and cut it into 1 to 2 inch chunks then I steam it until it is soft. If you have a steamer great but, if you don’t have one no problem just boil a pot of water and add a metal strainer over the top and cover it with foil.

Make a pie crust or buy one. Roll out your pie crust and add the pie mix then bake at 450 for 10 minutes then 325 for 40 minutes.

Pumpkin pie and pie dough actually does really well in the freezer and can be stored up to 3 months. Just thaw the pie or pie dough overnight in the refrigerator before using or serving. Also, you do not want to freeze an unbaked pie.

Pumpkin pie is a traditional dessert that is typically made with a pumpkin-based custard filling and a flaky crust. It is often spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, and can be served with whipped cream or ice cream. The recipe has been around for centuries and is a staple of many holiday celebrations, particularly Thanksgiving in the United States.

Pumpkin pie is a beloved dessert that is often associated with fall and Thanksgiving. I will cover the history of pumpkin pie, variations on the traditional recipe, and tips for making the perfect pumpkin pie.

History of this classic desert

Pumpkin pie has been a staple dessert in American cuisine for centuries. The first pumpkin pies were made by Native Americans. They would hollow out pumpkins and fill them with honey, spices, and fruits before roasting them over a fire. The colonists later adapted this recipe and added milk, eggs, and sugar. This is the variation of the pumpkin pie we know and love today.

Variations on the Traditional Recipe

While the classic pumpkin pie recipe is delicious on its own! There are many variations you can try to mix things up. Some popular variations include adding a streusel topping or using a gingersnap crust. What I also love doing is adding a layer of cheesecake to the filling. You can also experiment with different spices, such as cardamom or allspice, to give your pie a unique flavor.

Tips for Making the Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Finding and making the perfect recipe can be tricky, but with these tips, you’ll be a pro in no time:

– Use a store-bought pie crust if you’re short on time, or make your own for a homemade touch.

– Be sure to use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling, which contains added sugar and spices.

– Don’t overmix the filling, as this can cause the pie to crack while baking.

– Bake the pie on the bottom rack of your oven to ensure that the crust gets crispy. It is also important that the filling cooks evenly.

Conclusion: How to Enjoy Your Pumpkin Pie

Now that you know how to make the perfect pumpkin pie, it’s time to enjoy it! Serve your pie with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert. You can also enjoy leftovers for breakfast by heating up a slice. Top it with a drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
