1 Package frozen string beans
1 Can Cream of Celery Soup
3 Tbsp. Bacon Fat.
I Can or Package French Fried Onion Rings or Crispy Onions
1 Can Water Chestnuts
Partially cook the green beans over moderate heat. I fired them in a pan with 3 Tbsp. Bacon Fat but you could also use butter.
Place in a casserole dish with the other ingredients reserving some of the onion rings to place on the top.
Bake at 350 until hot and bubbly for about 45 minutes.
The green bean casserole can be kept warm in the oven for quite a while. The recipe can also be doubled or tripled. My sweetie and I can eat the whole casserole dish by ourselves. It is that good! So you may want to make double the recipe if you are cooking for more than just two people.
I made this with Marinated Oriental Chicken and it was a delicious weeknight meal! If you loved this recipe be sure to check out other recipes like Honey Glazed Baby Carrots
