Before I came a crossed this recipe I never would have put dandelion and wine in the same sentence but I have to say that I was impressed with this Sweet Dandelion Wine. This wine would be great served at a summer barbeque.

3 Orange Slices 3 Lemons Sliced thin 4 Cups Sugar or 4 lbs 1 to 2 Lbs Raisins 1 Cup Dandelion blossoms not the stems
Start by gathering your dandelions! You do not want any of the stem attached to the flower.
Collect at least a cup, you want equal parts water and dandelions.
Boil water, to add to the dandelions.
Put equal amounts of blossoms and boiling water in a crock pot and let soak for three days.
Drain the mixture and it to the lemons, oranges, raisins, and sugar.
Let soak for 22 days covered with a cloth.
Once the mixture has been in the crock pot for 22 days strain and bottle or enjoy!
This recipe for sweet dandelion wine was my sweeties grandmothers recipe and she loved to make this wine! She also loved to drive crazy which would have made us two peas in a pod. She would hit all the pot holes on the way home making sure to make a big splash.
